UC3: Dataset for Early Detection of Metastatic Prostate Cancer
Short Description
A collection of patients with confirmed PCa at biopsy and/or prostatectomy and with metastasis within 6 months from MRI.
Description
The UC3: Dataset for Early Detection of Metastatic Prostate Cancer comprises clinical, imaging, and pathological data from patients diagnosed with high-risk prostate cancer. The primary goal of this dataset is to enable the early identification of patients who are at imminent risk of developing metastatic disease. Through AI-driven analysis, the dataset facilitates the extraction of tumor characteristics and biological markers that may distinguish metastatic-prone cancers from localized cases. From a clinical perspective, early detection of metastatic potential is critical for guiding treatment strategy and improving patient outcomes. This dataset supports the development of models that can inform more aggressive treatment plans for those likely to develop metastases and adjust follow-up intensity accordingly. Conversely, it can also help avoid overtreatment in patients unlikely to experience metastatic progression. By identifying metastatic subtypes early, this dataset contributes to the implementation of precision oncology in prostate cancer care—enabling therapeutic interventions that are both timely and tailored to the biological profile of each patient’s disease.

Intended purpose
This dataset is intended to support the development of AI models that can detect early signs of metastatic potential in patients with high-risk prostate cancer. It enables the stratification of patients based on their likelihood of disease spread, allowing clinicians to tailor treatment and follow-up strategies. Ultimately, it aims to improve survival outcomes and quality of care by ensuring that aggressive disease is treated proactively while avoiding unnecessary interventions in non-metastatic cases.
